Heather Harrick owns and operates Harrick Plasma, Inc. a spin-off of a business started by her late father in 1969. The company manufactures and sells benchtop plasma cleaners used globally in engineering research. For the past 12 years, she has established and grown Harrick Plasma as an independent manufacturing company. Today the products have a reputation worldwide as a leader in material science research equipment.
Heather serves on Ithaca’s Urban Renewal Agency’s Economic Development Committee and is a member of the Hudson Valley Startup Fund, an economic development fund. She is also a member of Golden Seeds, an early stage investment firm that focuses on successful women-led companies. Heather serves as a mentor for Blackstone Launchpad at Cornell University and advises and supports early-stage companies in a variety of sectors. She is trained formally as an anthropologist and is an experience-taught businesswoman who possesses knowledge of corporate culture, manufacturing, leadership, family business, and economic development.
